about

More unclassifiable, random stuff from the vaults.

Tracks 1-3 feature cover versions by T Rex, Chick Corea and Billie Holiday and are sung by three fantastic singers, Sam Rogers, Hannah Gray and Beth Hague respectively.
They also feature the incredible Lee Jones on guitar.

The pristine sound is down to Rob Groucutt's great engineering.

Tracks 4-7 were originally recorded around 2000-2004. For release I have added guitar solos.

Tracks 8 + 9 feature a band I had called 'Juggernaut' that started out playing jazz fusion and ended up playing electronica/trip hop. This is from the jazz fusion perod. This was a great band that with some fantastic players. This recording features Mark Hartley, James Maiden, Quantic and (another) Sam Rogers on sax.
I do believe that this was recorded in the mid nineties on four track cassette but it still sounds great to me.

Track 10-11. The Priory of Brion let loose!
When I played in this band with Robert Plant we used to play a song called Darkness Darkness. In the middle of the song he would walk to the side of the stage and we would improvise this section. I would always get pretty intense!
Towards the end of the bands life I started placing a mic on stage and recording the gigs on minidisc.
Here are two recordings from two near consecutive gigs and shows how far out this band could get in front of thousands of people.

Track 12: I have recently unearthed a great recording of a clinic I did at ADC in Liverpool. Most of the tracks felt like they belonged on 'The Twitch' but here is a previously unreleased track from that period.

Track 13. I discovered lots of songs like this one in the vaults. Entirely made from bits of other recordings they don't seem to have a place anywhere. This track is here to represent all the strange experiments I have made over the years.
