Here is a another volume of the uncommercial, indefineable and unreleasable from my audio vaults.
It starts with the unreleasable; a remix of Sometimes it Snows in April, wriiten by Prince and recorded by Amar.
We (Timmy Vegas and myself) wanted to release this as a remix but the record company thought it too heavy. I love it...
It's followed by two recordings by the same line up (in other words, The Priory of Brion minus RP) a version of the jazz standard 'All The Things You Are' recorded really to test the gear and never intended to be released. But it's cool and I never miss an opportunity to demonstrate what a great band the Priory was.
It's followed by a version of 'Darkness Darkness', an incredible song by Jesse Colin Young and performed by The Youngbloods. This one is minus vocals and guitar but if you check the live versions of this on 'Curios Vol2' you can see from this early version how much those improvised sections developed. Then go and check out Robert plant's fantastic version on the album 'Dreamland'
Tracks 4&5 were written and sung by my daughters Grace (aged 7) and Hattie (aged 5) For many years I worked in schools and youth clubs creating music with young kids (See 'All Art Is Community Art) and I enjoy working like this; you often find yourself creating music that you would not normally create, so its a great learning experience for both sides.
Track 6 is an alternative version of 'Bigfoot' that can be heard on the album I did with Murphy McCaleb entitled 'Mythical and Angry' and can be heard here:
Track 7 is a live recording of the jazz standard ' Summertime' (Gershwin) recorded at The Artrix in Bromsgrove UK. It was recorded with Abi K and the Roadsters which on this gig consisted of myself alongside Tom Clarke-Hill on double bass, Lee Jones on guitaer and Abi Kelsey on vocals.
